President & CEO
While Ken’s delivery is easygoing and enjoyable, he is very serious when it comes to making investment decisions. He always must ask the question, “Why” before finalizing a decision, and fact checks until he feels comfortable to move forward.
Ken applies this balance of approachability and professionalism to his role as president and chief executive officer of Liberty Capital Management, where he oversees the firm’s vision and day-to-day operations as well as serves the unique needs of his clients.
In the investment management industry for 20 years, Ken began his career at Standish, Ayer, & Wood (now Standish Mellon Asset Management) as a portfolio analyst. A few years later, he joined Portfolio Solutions, LLC, as director of portfolio management and trading. There, he managed ETF and equity portfolios, including $250 million of individual municipal bonds. Before joining the Liberty Management Capital team, he co-managed and traded individual bond portfolios at Comerica Asset Management.
Ken earned a BBA in finance from Walsh College and a MBA, with distinction, in financial economics from the University of Detroit Mercy. He is an adjunct professor at Detroit Mercy, where he teaches graduate-level courses in foundations of financial management and wealth management and financial planning. He also holds his Accredited Wealth Management Advisor(SM) designation through the College for Financial Planning.
Ken lives in Waterford, MI with his wife, Leigh, and their kids, Conner and Kendal. He enjoys deep sea fishing and golf. -
Senior Vice President
Chuck brings over 33 years of investment management experience to his role as investment advisor and portfolio manager at Liberty Capital Management.
Chuck began his career at Manufacturers National Bank of Detroit (later merged with Comerica Bank) as senior vice president/investments. He managed over $1 billion of equity, ETF, municipal, and corporate bond portfolios. Chuck earned a BS in finance and a MBA from the University of Detroit Mercy. -
Director – Firm Administration and Client Relations
Suzanne’s goal is to deliver unparalleled service to Liberty Capital clients. She is the firm’s primary resource in handling client service requests, and is responsible for a number of operations activities including account transition management, trade execution and processing, and client funds management activities.
With more than 25 years of experience with investment and brokerage operations, Suzanne previously worked at Comerica Securities, Inc.; McDonald & Company, a full-service investment firm based in Cleveland, OH; and Kidder, Peabody & Company. She also has completed the following industry registration and examination requirements: General Securities Representative Series 7, Uniform Securities Agent State Law Series 63 Uniform Investment Advisor Law Series 66 Life, Health, & Variable Annuities. -
Financial Advisor
James began his career at a Fortune 50 financial firm, where he learned about the synergy among investment management, tax/estate strategizing and comprehensive planning to achieve the best outcomes. He has had the privilege of working with diverse clients, including individuals, businesses and business owners, always tailoring strategies to meet their unique aspirations. He shares Liberty’s values of a client-centric approach and customizable solutions.
A personal financial planning graduate of Western Michigan University, James extended his passion for finance beyond the classroom. He actively contributed to an investment blog, sharing insights and discussing investment strategies. He balanced his academic pursuits with leadership as captain of the WMU lacrosse team.

Bob brings over 25 years of experience to Liberty Capital Management. He serves as a member of the firm’s Investment Committee.
Earlier he served as vice president and senior portfolio manager for Manufacturers National Bank of Detroit and Comerica Bank's Private Banking Department. He was responsible for the management of personal trust portfolios totaling over $200 million. Bob holds a BS in economics from Denison University, Granville, Ohio. -

Rick has worked in the investment industry for over 35 years and has embraced a low-fee Bogleheads philosophy for more than 25 years. He is the founder and CEO of Ferri Investment Solutions and advises do-it-yourself individuals for fix-rate and hourly fees. He is a member of Liberty Capital Management’s Investment Committee
Rick started his career in 1989 as a Wall Street broker, and 1999, founded one of the nation’s first low-fee portfolio management companies, growing assets to over $1.5 billion. In 2017, the firm was purchased by a private equity investor.
Rick has published extensively on the benefits of low-cost investing, including several books on index funds, ETFs, and asset allocation. He also has written for Forbes and The Wall Street Journal, and is the creator and host of the “Bogleheads On Investing” podcast, a program sponsored by the John C. Bogle Center for Financial Literacy, a 501(C)3 organization.
Rick graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a BS in business administration and from Walsh College with an MS in finance. He became a Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder in 1994. Rick is also a retired Marine Corps officer, and flew jet fighters off aircraft carriers.
